bonjour,
 
Je suis un petit nouveau dans le monde de linux.
j'aimerai savoir comment faire pour utiliser ma clé usb
 
elle utilise (sous win) une sort de double partition une parti type disquette et l'autre partie avec le 125 mo qui reste type dd amovible
 
Par la meme occasion, pouvez vous me donner des sites pour en apprendre plus sur linux et pour les mises a jours (en dehors du site de mandrake)

Tu la branches et elle est montee automatiquement (une icone apparait sur le bureau et un nouveau repertoire dans /mnt)
Pour verifier que tout se passe bien il faut lire en root la fin de /var/log/messages (en tapant tail -n 20 /var/log/messages)

non apparement tout ne se pass pas bien j'ai l'impression.
 
je fais un copier de coller.
 
il trouvé la clé mais ensuite il me lance le logiciel de modi de partition et montage.
mais j'y connais pas spécialement grand chose.

Ha j'ai déja vu ce genre de clé USB, c'est le genre de clé qu'on peut qualifier de "alakon".
J'ai bien peur qu'elle ne marche pas sous Linux.

J'ai eu le même genre de soucis sous Suse.
J'ai une clé USB 2.0 Transcend 128Mo.
En fait dans la notice il est dit qu'il faut formater la cké sous Windows avant de lu'tiliser sous Linux.
C'est FAUX !!!
 
Voici comment j'ai fait :  
ATTENTION ! cette procédure va effacer toutes tes données présentent sur la clé.
Sous Root :  
1 - Création de la partition :
       fdisk /dev/sda
       tape p pour avoir la liste des partitions existantes
 
Voici ce que j'ai :

C'est ma config pour ma clé qui fonctionne aussi bien sous Linux que Windows.
 
Si tu n'as pas ce genre de config, efface toutes les partitions en tapant d (parfois avec le numéro de la partition su plusieurs)
 
Tapes n pour créer une nouvelle partition primaire (primary partition) avec les paramètres suivant :

Partition number (1-4): 1
First cylinder (1-1024, default 1):
Using default value 1
Last cylinder or +size or +sizeM or +sizeK (1-1024, default 1024):
Using default value 1024

Pour le moment ta partition est de type Linux.
Pour changer, tape t puis 6.
 
Ensuite sanvegarde les changement en tapant w (tu sors en même temps)
 
La partition de ta clé est créée, il faut la formater.
 
2 - Formatage :  
    mkdosfs -F 16 /dev/sda1
Ta clé est OK pour être montée !
 
3 - Commande de montage manuelle :  
     mount -t msdos /dev/sda1 /media/cleusb/
Change /media/cleusb par le répertoire de ton choix dans lequel tu auras tes fichiers.
 
Tu peux ajouter ceci dans /etc/fstab pour un montage auto au démarrage :
/dev/sda1 /media/cleusb auto rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,umask=007,gid=100 0 0
 
ou
 
/dev/sda1 /media/cleusb auto sync,user,exec 0 0
 
Voilà !

Par contre j'ai du faire quelquechose qu'il ne fallait pas avant car sur le bureau j'ai 3 icones ( disques dur (part1) [/mnt/hd] /removable et /hd2.
il ne veut pas les demonter et les enlever (clique droit qur l'icone) car je ne suis aps le SU.
Mais je n'arrive pas a trouver le moyen de passer SU. par l'interface graphique.
Le moyen qui reste je pense c'est de passer par ligne de commande mais je ne connais pas les commandes a taper.
 
quelqu'un pourrait maider ?

J'ai une clé USB qui ne fonctionne pas sous Linux. Quand je la branche, elle apparait bien sur le bureau, mais impossible d'y mettre des fichiers ni de lire ce qu'il y a dessus, ni en root ni en utilisateur.
 
J'ai donc fait tout ce qui est décris dans ce post. Quand je la branche le résultat ne change pas. Donc je la démonte, et ensuite je tape :  
 
mount -t msdos /dev/sda1 /mnt/removable/
 
ou  
 
mount -t msdos /dev/sda1 /mnt/removable/  
 
et j'obtiens :  
 
mount: /dev/sda1: ne peut lire le super bloc
 
Vous avez une idée ?
