Attendre une cible avec onclick="location.href='lien .html'" ?

Cette syntaxe marche très bien pour attendre un lien sans passer par une frame.
Par contre pour attendre une frame, je ne sais pas comment indiquer la cible (location.frame.href marche pas )
Comment faire ?

et pour atteindre la cible "_blank" comment je fais ?
onclick="blank.location.href=''" ne marche pas

faut pas utiliser target="_blank" dans ce cas mais créer un popup avec window.open()
