How to run Half Life 2 on the Samsung nc10

Follow the steps below (for Windows XP but very similar on Vista and Mac OS)

A/ HOW TO FIX THE SCREEN RESOLUTION ISSUE

1- right click on Half-Life 2's icon
2- select "Properties"
3- In the field "Target" ("Cible" ), DON'T CHANGE THE VALUE but APPEND the following text at the end of the text already present (separated with a space) :
 -w 640
Example : If the text in the "Target" field is :
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Half Life 2\hl2.exe"
You should replace it with :
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Half Life 2\hl2.exe" -w 640
Please note all the spaces : "C:\Program Files\Valve\Half Life 2\hl2.exe"[SPACE]-w[SPACE]640
4- click on OK
5- Click on the icon to start the game. You should be able to reach the title screen
6- Do NOT Alt+tab the game! It will crash
7- Now that you are on the title screen, go to the graphical options of the game
8- Select the wide screen option (If I'm not mistaken it's the 4:3 aspect ratio?)
9- Save the settings and exit the game
10- Follow the steps 1 to 4 to set the shortcut back to normal (In the example above it was : "C:\Program Files\Valve\Half Life 2\hl2.exe" )

B/ HOW TO FIX THE SAVING AND ALT+TAB ISSUES
11- Follow steps 1 to 4 above, but instead of "-w 640", add the parameters below (separated with a space):
 -steam +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1
Example : If the text in the "Target" field is :
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Half Life 2\hl2.exe"
You should replace it with :
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Half Life 2\hl2.exe" -steam +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1
Please note all the spaces : "C:\Program Files\Valve\Half Life 2\hl2.exe"[SPACE]-steam[SPACE]+mat_forcehardwaresync[SPACE]0[SPACE]+snd_async_prefetch_priority[SPACE]1
12- Run the game
13- The game should now be slightly faster, and, more important, it won't crash when you save. I even believe that you'll be able to Alt+Tab, even if I don't remember for sure.

Enjoy!
