J'arrive enfin (grace notemment a ce site) à avoir un linux agreable.........mais il reste un gros pb au boot ...  
j'ai mdk 10.1 official.
 
9 fois sur 10 quand linux se lance il plante ... il le faisait à cause de netprofile .. je l'ai desactiver grace a vos conseil mais voila maintenant qu'il le fait au moment de : remise à zero de firewire1394, ou de entree dans le mode non interactif.... Se mettre en mode interactif ne change rien .....
 
Y'a til un moyen de resoudre ce probleme qui est ma fois tres chiant ??? Avez vous deja rencontre ce pb ??

Ouai c'est un portable sony vaio VGN A215M ... prq ??

Pour le dmesg, ça te donne les messages relatifs à ton boot -> tu tapes dmesg ds une console donc .

t'a installé les rpm propre aux sony vaio?? ils sembles ameliorer les choses. y'en a 2 ou 3 je crois

upgrade la version de ipw2200 et télécharge le firmware de ton wifi sur le site http://ipw2200.sf.net

Pour l'upgrade de ipw2200 et l'installe du firmware ... j'ai un pb. Le site que tu m'as dit d'aller voir détail l'install.
 
Ca dit, copie les fichier du firmware (telecharge) à un endroit du style /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/. Utilise  /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent pour connaitre le chemin exacte de ta distrib.
Mais /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent me repond: "Firmware '' event not supported"
 
 
En fait j'utilise pas ce wireless ... je peux pas lui dire tout simplement d'oublier ce firmware ??

Ces quoi ces rpm ... tu sais où je peux les trouver ??

Ils sont sur les cd de la mandrake, mais ils sont pas installé d'office. fais une recherche sur "vaio" dans les RPM.
Et au fait, ca plante pas vraiment au boot, attent 5-6 minutes et ca se lance

lorsque je regarde ton IRQ 9, j'ai peur : il y a tellement de devices dessus ...
 
ils disaient de regarder le contenu du fichier /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent afin de savoir où placer le firmware
